Kayla Wardell, Professional Children’s Storyteller

Kayla Wardell is the creator of Ramblin’ Rita and the founder, owner, and operator of StoryTime Entertainment, LLC. She earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Texas at El Paso and appeared in numerous local and regional productions. She taught acting for after school drama programs and spent a year and a half touring with the prestigious Missoula Children’s Theatre, teaching and performing with young actors across the country and around the world.

How Kayla Wardell Became Ramblin’ Rita

Kayla began her journey as Ramblin’ Rita at the Frisco Public Library almost a decade ago. She combined her experience as a children’s performer and her dedication to early literacy to design one-of-a-kind interactive storytelling performances. In the last two years alone, Ramblin’ Rita has performed for over 400 different audiences, sharing her love of storytelling with well over 10,000 children and their families. Ramblin’ Rita travels to libraries, schools, museums, and more all across the state of Texas and beyond. With her boundless energy, warm encouragement, and love of the spoken word, Ramblin’ Rita gives children the opportunity to help her bring stories to life, whether they are sitting in the audience or volunteering on stage.
