School Assemblies with Ramblin’ Rita™
School Assemblies with Ramblin’ Rita™ delivers engaging, interactive programs that support language arts goals, educational standards, and a love of story-telling. Every performance is edutainment at its finest, offering fun, facts, stories, and laughs.
This is no one-woman show. Volunteers from the audience join Ramblin’ Rita on stage, helping her act out two tales complete with costumes and props. These are stories brought to life by the next generation of storytellers, with just a little help from a talkative Texan.
All assemblies include a downloadable Classroom Discussion Guide to extend learning from the assembly to the class-room.
All K-5 programs can be adjusted for separate K-2 and 3-5 audiences.

Frontier Fables | Grades K-5 | 45-minutes
Ramblin’ Rita rounds up some furry and feathered friends for a journey through frontier fables. From an Aesop classic to an American original, this school assembly helps students bring moral tales to life as they explore how characters’ choices shape the outcome and uncover the lesson within each story.
Trickster Tales | Grades K-5 | 45-minutes
Ramblin’ Rita helps students bring trickster tales to life in this engaging, interactive school assembly. Featuring Coyote, Rabbit, and other clever characters from North American myth and legend, students explore the consequences of pride and discover the difference between being “good and smart” and being “too smart for your own good.” With quick wits, mischievous plans, and plenty of surprises, these memorable tales show that even the cleverest trickster can learn a lesson.
The Great Tall Tale Roundup | Grades K-5 | 45-minutes
Ramblin’ Rita helps students spin yarns taller than Texas in this school assembly celebrating the larger-than-life world of American tall tales. Students discover how a bit of history can grow into a story that is too big for its britches as they bring legendary characters such as Pecos Bill, Slue-Foot Sue, and Bigfoot Wallace to life. With amazing animals, incredible feats, and heaps of hyperbole, it’s no exaggeration that this high-spirited assembly will have students hootin’ and hollerin’ for more.
Once Upon a Time in the Wild West | Grades K-5 | 45-minutes
Ramblin’ Rita takes students on a rollicking fairy-tale adventure across the deserts and prairies of the Wild West. As they participate in lively, reimagined versions of familiar tales, students discover how cultures all over the world create their own distinctive variations of fairy tales. Featuring runaway tamales, boisterous bison, and memorable new friends, this school assembly explores story setting, character, and the choices that shape each happily ever after.
Kindergarten Hoedown | K only | 30-minutes
Ramblin’ Rita welcomes new kindergarteners to an elementary-school hoedown. Songs, read-aloud stories, flannel-board fun, and puppets keep students singing, dancing, and shaking off first-day jitters throughout this fun-filled assembly. This high-energy program entertains and engages young learners while building confidence as they begin their kindergarten adventure.
